Job Summary

POSITION PURPOSE

To provide reliable testing calibration and maintenance of all types of meters and metering equipment

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role an individual must be able to perform in a satisfactory manner the functions listed below. The company will make reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.

  1. Tests services maintains and calibrates all meters instruments transformers and metering equipment
    1. Tests all meters by ANSI and CW REMC standards using computer driven calibration equipment
    2. Thoroughly cleans and repairs meters as needed
    3. Accurately programs all Carroll White REMC meters
    4. Ensures all meters are properly sealed after testing
    5. Accurately documents information on all tested and. repaired meters
    6. Updates and looks up meter related information on the NISC system as needed
    7. Edits meter programming software as instructed
    8. Installs and repairs instrument metering equipment on de-energized lines
    9. Installs wiring for CT and PT metering in accordance with directions on de-energized lines
    10. Sets and maintains single-phase
    11. Accurately wires sockets for single-phase company mounted meters
    12. Effectively repairs any damaged meter bases de-energized
    13. Performs meter change outs according to company procedures
    14. Assembles primary metering equipment
    15. Performs field testing of 200 Amps self-contained metering installations
  2. Meets with members and works with them to help them understand energy usage and assists in identifying member side issues
  3. Assists with power theft cases as needed
  4. Attain and maintain CPR & First Aid certification and Forklift certification
  5. Assists the Senior Meter Technician where needed

Qualifications :

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

To perform this job successfully an individual should have an equivalent of the following education and/or experience.

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Vocational/Technical school diploma or equivalent education in electronics or related field preferred
  • Must possess a valid drivers license

  • Must be able to deal discreetly with confidential information
  • Must participate in and be certified in Annual CPR & Periodic First Aid Training
  • Must possess a Valid Indiana Drivers License
