Job Summary

Title: Controls Technician 1 - CTECH1

Location: Hueytown AL 35023.

Job Type: 1 Years Of contract

Schedule: Standard Shift

Job Summary

0 - 3 years of related experience.
Technicians are responsible for installing maintaining and repairing protection and control systems.
These systems are used to monitor protection systems in power substations.
Technicians must have a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles as well as computer skills.
They use this knowledge to install repair and maintain protection and control systems that may include microprocessor relays programmable logic controllers (PLCs) sensors pumps motors etc.

Duties & Responsibilities

Install maintain and troubleshoot protection and control relaying and associated devices
Perform calibration of various types of protection and control relays and devices
Assist in creating and maintaining protection and control documentation
Assist assigned project lead with field assignments Install program and maintain protection and control relays and devices
Participate in process hazard analyses
Maintain knowledge of current industry trends and practices

Required Skills and Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent associates degree in electrical engineering industrial maintenance or related field
preferred 0-3 years experience in a controls technician or similar role
Familiar with Microsoft Office applications Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
Working knowledge of PLCs and HMIs Experience with AC and DC systems
Successful candidate must live within a reasonable commute to the Client office location
