Job Summary

Introduction

Consultant: Annual Financial Statement Preparer

Location: Marlboro Johannesburg (Office-based)
Contract Period: 16 February 2026 until financial statements are signed
Remuneration: R600 per hour (negotiable based on experience)

We are seeking an experienced Annual Financial Statement (AFS) Preparer to assist with drafting updating and finalising the 2026 financials for multiple entities and consolidated group reporting. The role is time-sensitive requiring rapid turnaround to support audits and operational continuity.

Key Responsibilities

Draft update correct and finalise annual financial statements per IFRS for SMEs
Prepare consolidated group financials for 15 entities some on Sage others on Odoo
Review subsidiary trial balances prepare pro forma journals and consolidate TBs
Prepare cash flow statements and manage income & deferred tax accounting
Liaise with auditors finance team and assets team to ensure FAR reconciliations
Identify and correct inconsistencies or errors in financials
Complete ad hoc finance tasks as required

Requirements

CA(SA) or minimum 3 years post-article experience
Extensive experience using Draftworx to compile AFS non-negotiable caseware will not be accepted
Proven track record in consolidation accounting and group financials
Advanced knowledge of income & deferred taxes
Strong experience with cash flow statements
Ability to work under tight deadlines providing responses within hours
Strong attention to detail accuracy and problem-solving skills
Proficient in MS Excel
Experience with Odoo and Sage Business Cloud is advantageous
Excellent communication skills to liaise with auditors and internal stakeholders
Available to work in office from Marlboro for the duration
Able to work independently and collaboratively
