Join the County of Elgin as aLibrary Summer Student!Position Title: Library Summer Student Type:Temporary Non-unionCompensation: $21.00 per hourHours: Monday to Friday scheduled to be determined between the hours of 8:30am 4:30pm EST; 560 hours worked by November 27 2026Vacancy: 1 new vacancyAbout the Role:The Elgin Library has a contract position available for a Summer Student. The program made possible by financial assistance from the Government of Canada through the Young Canada Works in Heritage Institutions Program as well as the County of Elgin entails the following:Summarizing data for approximately 8300 library items that were reviewed and evaluated as part of an on-going diversity audit;Collection Development Policy review and application to the librarys collection;Collection review activities utilizing the librarys integrated library :Proof of enrollment in post-secondary education in library and information science or related customer service and communication skills are with integrated library systems and previous experience in a public library setting is an asset. Must be between 15-30 years of age and returning to school in Fall 2026 to meet funding now!
