The Opportunity
South Bow is a seeking engineering student interested in hands-on experience across its SCADA & Automation and Process Hydraulics (PHE) & Leak Detection Engineering (LDE) teams. You will contribute to models analyses and projects that improve operational reliability and overall system integrity across our (liquid) pipeline operations.

What Youll Do

  • Support the design testing and troubleshooting of automation and control logic used for pressure control and operational reliability.

  • Collaborate with Control Center System Operations and field teams to support safe and reliable operations.

  • Assist with SCADA system configuration testing documentation and deployment of reliable real time monitoring systems.

  • Help investigate and resolve data quality instrumentation and system issues that impact operational and leak detection performance.

  • Assist with maintaining and updating databases technical documentation scorecards and dashboards to support internal and external stakeholders.

  • Support real time and offline simulation of pipeline systems to understand hydraulic behavior pressure management and system performance under normal and abnormal operating conditions.

  • Assist with the development maintenance and use of analytical tools models and data workflows to support system monitoring investigations and continuous improvement.

  • Support the development and maintenance of steady state and transient hydraulic models to inform system design project evaluations and compliance.

  • Contribute to data organization validation and process improvement initiatives to continuously improve analysis tools and workflows.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Actively enrolled in Engineering (Mechanical Chemical Electrical Civil Software & Computer Energy); at least four academic terms completed by start date.

  • Enrollment at an accredited university and returning to school for at least one semester following the work term.

  • Valid study permits and post-secondary work placement letters required for international students.

  • Demonstrated safety mindset and alignment with South Bow values.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborative cross-functional work.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Coursework/projects in fluid mechanics pipeline hydraulics process control and data analysis.

  • Experience with programming (e.g. VB C# SQL Python).

  • Familiarity with hydraulic modeling tools (steady-state & transient) automation/SCADA concepts.

  • Project Management skills and/or agile ways of working; the ability to reprioritize based on business needs.

  • Experience in data management and visualization/ reporting (Power BI Excel or similar).
