THE OPPORTUNITY
Are you an experienced farm assistant looking for the next step in your farming career or you may have already been in a similar role either way - this 2IC leadership opportunity at Mayflield Dairy could be the ideal opportunity for you.
Join this supportive and friendly team who all work well together as 2IC you will also work closely with the Farm Manager.
You will help to implement farm plans and take on a degree of responsibility for feed allocation animal health and breeding and animal records. You will also be happy to muck in and support the team where needed.
On the Farm Managers Day off you will take responsibility for the team ensuring everything runs smoothly.
THE FARM
Mayfield Dairy is located just 15 minutes from Ashburton and is a well-established high-performing property.
The farm milks 1020 peak cows through a 60-bail rotary with ACRs Milkhub and an in-shed feeding system.
The team operates on a 6 and 3 from mid-January to mid-July roster 6 and 2 roster the rest of the season and enjoys working in a positive team-oriented environment.
ABOUT YOU
You are self-motivated and passionate about dairy farming wanting to grow your career and develop your leadership skills.
You will have:
Proven dairy experience in grazing and animal health
A commitment to individual and team development
Pasture management and feed planning skills
High standards of animal welfare and commitment to health and safety
Self-motivation and initiative able to problem-solve
Current and full NZ drivers licence
Experience driving farm machinery/tractors
