We are seeking a Configuration/Data Management Specialist III (CM3) professional experienced in performing the configuration and data management and project management functions for Space Nuclear Propulsion (SNP) Office and Projects at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC). This position will perform all configuration and data management and project management functions utilizing Windchill Atlassian and Microsoft Office products. The position requires knowledge in all five functions of Configuration Management: Planning Identification Change Management Status Accounting and Audits/Verification. Successful implementation requires initiative and flexibility as well as the ability to work in a fast-moving environment. Required skills/experience needed include Configuration Control Board (CCB) Secretariat Project Management Data Management and Integration or milestone and technical review support. The ability to understand the change management process and how to manage the technical baseline are key characteristics of this position. The successful candidate will be able to take a proactive approach in working with existing CDM and project management personnel to establish and manage required processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Interface with project personnel and personnel at other NASA Centers to implement all aspects of the CM and DM functions.
• Provide guidance and recommendations on the establishment of CM and DM and project management processes.
• Take ownership of the CM and/or DM Plan for the project following Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) guidelines.
• Manage and facilitate project Control Board as the Secretariat- including generating agendas and minutes as well as action tracking.
• Manage project data in the Microsoft SharePoint.
• Assist senior CDM team member in maintaining processes to manage the baseline and their participation in the SNP Office change management function.
• Perform the Configuration Status Accounting function utilizing an ACCESS or Jira database or Excel spreadsheet.
• Work with project personnel to coordinate the review process and to ensure completeness of their product prior to presentation to the control board.
• Perform the Records Management function for project.
• Handle Sensitive But Unclassified (SBU) ITAR and other export control or proprietary data following NASA and MSFC requirements and guidelines.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience is desired.
• Minimum of 10 years of applicable CDM and project/technical management experience to include change management data management and configuration status accounting experience is required. Minimum of 14 years experience if substituting experience for degree.
• Experience as a Configuration Control Board Secretariat or equivalent is desired.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel & Power Point) is required.
• Strong organization skills attention to detail and excellent follow-through skills are required.
• Experience in the use of CDM and PLM systems such as Windchill or SharePoint or equivalent is desired.
• Experience in the development of CM and/or DM Plans is desired.
• Certification in CDM or related field such as the National Defense Industry Association (NDIA) Certification is desired.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

• Ability to obtain clearance/access onsite at NASA MSFC is required.
