Job Title: Data Governance Specialist - Hybrid

Duration (Contract): 12 Months

Job Description:
As a Data Governance Specialist you will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive public health data governance framework aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements. You will collaborate with technical and non technical stakeholders to assess current practices identify gaps and risks and implement policies and procedures that promote data integrity security usability and a culture of data driven decision making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a division wide data governance framework aligned with regulatory and industry standards.
Coordinate collaboration across leadership legal teams external partners and internal stakeholders.
Conduct assessments of existing data governance policies procedures and documentation to identify gaps and risks.
Establish protocols for data ownership integrity quality security and usability.
Research and adapt best practices to support public health data governance and health equity goals.
Develop and maintain data governance documentation including data dictionaries metadata and master data inventories.
Lead change management efforts to promote data as a shared organizational asset.
Ensure data stewards and partners receive appropriate training and resources.
Contribute to the development of a multi year strategic roadmap for data governance modernization.
Support cross functional initiatives related to data exchange compliance and data modernization.

Required Skills Experiences Education and Competencies:

Bachelors degree in Health Administration Computer Science Information Systems or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in data governance data management data quality or related disciplines.
Experience developing and documenting data governance policies procedures and frameworks.
Strong understanding of data privacy security and regulatory requirements related to public health data.
Experience managing data dictionaries metadata master data and governance documentation.
Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and executive stakeholders.
Strong knowledge of enterprise data assets data protection and governance best practices.
Excellent communication facilitation and change management skills.
Experience coordinating governance activities in public sector or healthcare environments.

The hourly range for roles of this nature are $40.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills experience location and industry.
