The EHS Manager is responsible for safety strategy and the development of safety policies and practices. The incumbent is responsible for providing and promoting a workplace focused on compliance with all Federal State and Local Industrial Standards.
Develop implement and maintain EHS policies procedures and programs to ensure compliance with OSHA EPA and other applicable regulations.
Work with training department to develop and provide safety training for employees assuring that we are providing a safe and secure work environment.
Oversee the investigation of work-related illness and injuries; investigating all accidents and assuring corrective actions are implemented.
Champion Human Performance principles through training tools and event learning teams.
Collaborate with operations maintenance and HR to address safety concerns.
Assist with Workers Compensation claims for the plant.
Organize and facilitate employee Safety Committee.
Facilitate audits to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards determine corrective or preventive measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
Responsible for plant security - communicate and direct plant security company.
BS degree in safety industrial hygiene or environmental related discipline and 5 years experience in EHS or related field
Certification preferred (CIH CSP and/or CHP)
Demonstrated computer literacy with knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
Strong knowledge of OSHA EPA and state-specific regulations.
Experience with hazardous materials air permits and environmental reporting.
Excellent communication leadership and problem-solving skills.
Must be a team player that interacts effectively with co- workers in group or in independent cooperative activities.
Ability to function under pressure and able to prioritize numerous tasks with conflicting deadlines.
Ability to respond to emergencies and work flexible hours as needed.
