In privacy law and data protection at PwC you will specialise in providing advice and guidance to clients on privacy laws and data protection regulations. You will help businesses navigate the complex landscape of privacy and data protection requirements confirming compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Working in this area you will assist in developing privacy policies conducting privacy impact assessments and implementing data protection measures to safeguard personal information.

Asamanager you willberesponsible for leading the organizations end-to-end data protection capabilities across the full data lifecycle. This role owns strategy architecture tooling and operations for protecting sensitive data while also managing and developing a team of data protection professionals.Thisrole requires strong technical depth across modern data protection platforms and the ability to translate data risk into scalable controls and processes.

  • Develop/Implement automation solutions and capabilities that are clearly aligned to client business technology and threat posture

KeyResponsibilities:

  • Own and drive the organizations data protection strategy across data at rest in motion and in use

  • Define and govern data protection capabilities across: Data discovery and visibility Data classification and labeling Data access governance and exposure management Data loss prevention and policy enforcement Insider risk and misuse detection Cloud and SaaS data protection (DSPM)

  • Design and oversee end-to-end data protection architectures across on-prem hybrid and cloud environments

  • Lead implementation and integration of data protection platforms such as:

  • Microsoft Purview(Information Protection DLP Insider Risk Records Management)

  • Varonis(data discovery permissions analysis insider risk automation)

  • Cyera or other DSPM platforms(cloud data discovery risk posture exposure analysis)

  • Ensure consistent policy models across email collaboration tools endpoints cloud storage databases and SaaS applications

  • Experience applying AI/ML or generative AI to enhance data protection capabilities such as intelligent data classification risk prioritization anomaly detection or insider risk analysis

  • Experience designing orleveragingAI-assisted workflows for data protection operations including alert triage investigation support policy tuning and automation of repetitive tasks

  • Establish and manage operational processes for data protection monitoring alert triage investigation and response

  • Ability to communicate data risk and protection posture to technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Define escalation paths and coordinate with SOC IR Legal HR and Compliance teams

  • Lead mentor and develop a team of data protection analysts and engineers

  • Set clear goals priorities and performance expectations for the team

  • Support hiring onboarding and ongoing skills development across data protection domains

  • Strong experience across multiple data protection domains including data discovery classification access governance DLP insider risk and cloud data protection

  • Solid understanding of the data lifecycle from creation to disposal

Years of Experience:912years(with 3 years in data protection leadership roles)

  • SC401 Information Security Administrator Associate SC200 -Security Operations Analyst

  • CISSP CCSP

  • Varonis Certified Engineer

Preferred Skills& Experience

Core (Must-Have)

  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview (DLP Information Protection Insider Risk)Solid understanding of data security privacy and cloud risk concept

Highly Preferred (Differentiators):

  • Hands-on or implementation experience with Cyera (DSPM) and/or Varonis

    • Experience building or maturing data protection operating models (processes metrics runbooks)

    • Exposure to regulatory and compliance frameworks (GDPR HIPAA SOX PCI ISO 27001)

    Nice to Have

    • Experience designing building or guiding the development of AI agents to support data protection use cases.

    • Automation or scripting experience (Power Automate Python PowerShell etc.)

    • Experience inintegrating data protection tools with SIEM/SOAR platforms
