More about this role
The candidate will be responsible for various accounting tasks and ensure accurate financial reporting. Under broad supervision reconciles and adjusts various general ledger accounts and/or bank statements. May perform moderately complex analysis of performance results. Compiles consolidates and analyzes accounting and finance information for the production of financial statements and reports. Role typically requires between 3 and 5 years of experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintenance of product standard costs including variance and scrap reporting
- Maintenance of the cycle counts for inventory program
- Back up for creating/ reviewing of Shipping Invoices to pack slips to ensure accuracy & Report Sales on Daily Report
- Maintenance of vendor and travelers insurance records
- Processing of Benefit Billing and Reconciliations
- Payroll Process Review of payroll prior to submission to ADP
- Recording of Cash Receipts into ERP System
- Invoicing for Consignment Sales
- Processing of Credit Memos
- Daily weekly & Monthly reporting of direct & indirect labor
- Accuracy of account reconciliations related to job duties
- Daily assistance for internal & external customers
- Month End Reports Journal Entries & Reconciliations & Variance Analysis
- Responsible for accurate Monthly & Quarterly Reporting for internal & external customers
- Other accounting duties as needed including back up for other accounting staff
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in accounting or related field
- Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements and periodicals
- Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook Excel Word PowerPoint etc.)
- Good Verbal and written communication skills
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- A solid understanding of Dual Entry Accounting
- Experience with ADP
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in general accounting
- Must be able to work out of one of our three manufacturing locations: Sault Ste. Marie MI; Boyne City MI; Angola IN
