Sous Chef Newly Refurbished Country House Hotel

Cotswolds Base Salary Tronc Live-In Available

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sous Chef to join a beautifully refurbished country house hotel in the Cotswolds now under new ownership and undergoing significant transformation.

Following substantial investment into the property including a brand-new 60000 kitchen installation and extensive refurbishment throughout the business is entering a new chapter with a clear focus on elevating standards strengthening the food offering and building a motivated quality-driven team.

This is a rare opportunity to join at the beginning of something ambitious and help shape the future direction of the kitchen.


The Role

As Sous Chef you will work closely with the Head Chef and General Manager to help develop and deliver a refreshed quality-led food offering across the hotels dining outlets.

You will:

  • Support the day-to-day running of the kitchen

  • Lead service in the Head Chefs absence

  • Maintain high standards of consistency presentation and organisation

  • Assist with menu development using seasonal locally sourced produce

  • Train mentor and develop junior chefs

  • Manage stock control GP awareness and kitchen compliance

  • Contribute to a professional motivated brigade culture

This role suits either an experienced Sous Chef or a strong Junior Sous ready to step into a broader leadership position within a structured quality-focused environment.


About You

  • Experience within a quality-led hotel rosette or strong fresh-food environment

  • Confident running service and supporting brigade management

  • Organised calm under pressure and commercially aware

  • Passionate about seasonal produce and modern British cooking

  • Motivated by being part of a business relaunch and long-term growth


Package

  • base salary (depending on experience)

  • Plus tronc

  • Live-in accommodation available (circa 60 per week subject to availability)
