***This position is for a Maintenance Technician based in Tsawwassen***
About the Role
As a Maintenance Technician within our REMS team youll play a pivotal role in responding to tenant service requests with low technical requirements escalating more complex jobs to the Building Operator or Operations Manager (as necessary) and bringing potential issues to the attention of upper management. Performs minor repairs in addition to inspecting repairs that have been completed by external service providers. Maintains the cleanliness of common areas mechanical and electrical rooms parking lots and sidewalks. Performs landscaping duties which include shoveling snow.
This role is based at a 450000 . open-air shopping centre in Tsawwassen. You will have the opportunity to work on a small operations team. Key responsibilities include delivering outstanding tenant service and maintaining the shopping centres immaculate curb appeal. The majority of the time this role requires being active outside in all weather conditions. This positions regular shift will be Thursday Monday including weekends and statutory holidays with anticipated hours of work being 10:30 am 7 pm.
This position will require on-call duties for various properties in the Lower Mainland on a rotation with other Building Operations employees.
Perform or coordinate necessary repairs and services following tenant occupant requests
Maintain exterior and common area light fixtures replace lamps as necessary
Respond to emergencies on-site
Perform routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs both indoors and outdoors (all weather).
Clean and paint corroded equipment shopping centre features/finishes as directed
Perform janitorial tasks (tidying sweeping etc.) in mechanical/electrical and common areas
Cleans and maintains the exterior including (but not limited to) all parking areas garbage enclosures roadways landscaping of the shopping centre including continuous litter pick up/disposal; some seasonal pressure washing; returns shopping carts to designated spots
Empty garbage receptacles; wipe down the exterior of the receptacles so they are always clean
Minor snow removal on sidewalks and storefronts
Roof maintenance including inspection and cleaning of drains and gutters
Maintains inventories of operating and maintenance supplies and coordinates the purchase of consumable supplies that are within budget
Provide input tothe supervisor on recurring maintenance activities
Assist with coordinating external contractors for maintenance and building repairs
Attend group meetings for the facility
Participates in Occupational Health & Safety meetings (when required)
Other duties as
Minimum 2-5 years related work experience within commercial buildings (office and/or retail);
Valid Drivers License and reliable access to a personal vehicle are required.
Effective communication skills (strong command of the English language);
Excellent ability to work with a computer Microsoft Teams phone Apps
Experience with Angus MRI is an asset
Ability to lift 30lbs on average and the ability to walk distances
Pleasant cooperative attitude and is a team player.
Diligent and reliable;
The ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a collaborative and respectful manner.
Flexible working hours and able to respond to emergencies (on-call requirement)
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills;
Able to effectively multitask recognizing and addressing important time-sensitive tasks

Our salary ranges are determined by role level and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all Canada locations. Within the range individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills experience and relevant education or training.
