Basic Function

The Marketing and Social Media Specialist is responsible for executing overseeing and monitoring internal and external communications that support the Banks mission and marketing goals. This role requires collaboration between all Bank departments particularly HR IT and Compliance.

Responsible for increasing brand awareness and enhancing the image of the Bank through the development and implementation of creative marketing strategies that accurately depict the messaging associated with First Bank Chicago being one of the top five privately held Banks in Chicagoland poised for growth and expansion in the marketplace.

Job Duties

While the primary functions of the position are focused on communications the Marketing & Social Media Specialist will be required to provide support as needed with various Marketing events and activities. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to preparing detailed media reports press releases and marketing materials.

Essential Duties
Internal Communications -Responsible for managing internal communications primarily using MS365 products which include but are not limited to One Note Teams and SharePoint (the Vault). Internal communications require working closely with HR IT Department and the Communications Working Group. Observing all regulatory requirements established by the Compliance Department is high priority while managing governance standards guidelines and best practices.

Vault/SharePoint & Teams - The primary source for internal communications is the Vault and Teams. Marketing is responsible for maintaining a consistent look and feel of the Vault environment and will work closely with IT to execute changes being made to the platform. Marketing will utilize Teams to communicate Bank-wide announcements.

  • Responsible for managing Marketing Vault page and document storage
  • Responsible for updating Vault Homepage with employee announcements and current activities
  • Responsible for working with IT for troubleshooting and training as needed
  • Participate in Communications Working Group
  • Manage Marketing announcements sent via Teams
  • Maintaining MS365 skills is required to properly manage these functions

External Communications - Promoting First Bank Chicago through external communications while observing all regulatory requirements established by the Compliance Department is high priority. This position plays a key role in executing the institutions monthly marketing campaigns through strong visual design brand consistency and effective digital communication. This position is responsible for creating campaign assets managing social media channels and developing internal department collateral by using a variety of platforms to reach target audiences. This includes but is not limited to the Bank website(s) print digital and social media outlets. Depending on the need external communications will come from different areas within Marketing as well as other departments within the Bank.

Social Media

  • Establish an engaging social media presence on various platforms while promoting First Bank Chicago within brand guidelines
  • Oversee company interactions with the public on all social media platforms and utilize 3rd party software to manage online activities following procedures established by Compliance Department
  • Analyze social media metrics. Develop and implement strategies to increase traffic to websites and social media platforms
  • Manage monthly social media logs and digital images to meet Compliance regulations and branding standards
  • Maintain a high proficiency in the social and digital media arena.
  • Develop content ideas that support business goals and highlight products community involvement staff culture and member success stories
  • Seek and attend educational opportunities pertaining to social media

Press Releases

  • Create and manage press releases to include professional high-quality photos and written copy following Bank branding guidelines
  • Manage POTM schedule with Crains
  • Mange contract negotiations with vendors
  • Coordinate with HR and communicate PR announcements on the Vault
  • Maintain a list of media outlets across industry sectors

Campaign & Graphic Design

  • Develop visual assets for monthly marketing campaigns (print digital web in-branch materials)
  • Maintain consistency with brand guidelines while elevating overall creative quality
  • Create design templates for recurring marketing needs (flyers posters rate sheets digital ads)
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Marketing Officer to refine campaign concepts and ensure timely execution
  • Prepare and deliver final design files to internal teams and external vendors

Nonessential Duties

Qualifications

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent MS Office 365 skills particularly Word Excel Teams Planner Forms PowerPoint and SharePoint are a must
  • Adobe software skills a plus
  • Strong knowledge and use of social media platforms particularly Facebook Instagram and LinkedIn
  • Analytics knowledge a plus particularly Google Analytics and SEO
  • Photography and videography skills a plus
  • Excellent computer skills a must coding experience is a plus
  • Must have good writing and communications skills
  • Must be able to lead discussions in person and on camera public speaking skills a must
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills a must
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage a shift in priorities
  • Experience working with 3rd party vendors contract negotiating skills a plus

Training & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing Graphic Design Communications or 2 to 4 years equivalent experience.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in graphic design social media or digital content creation (financial industry a plus but not required)
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite Canva or similar platforms
  • Strong understanding of social media trends strategies and analytics
  • Ability to balance creativity with compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong copy writing skills and visual storytelling skills
  • Strong knowledge and fluent in using AI technology

Compensation

  • Expected Salary Range: $65000 - $75000 Annually
  • Salary will be negotiated based on relevant skills and experience as well as internal equity and alignment with market data
