Location - Sanand / Bhayala

Reporting to: Sr GM HR CEO

Team: Regional Plant HRS (3 plants)

Work from Office (6 days workings)

KPIs

Supporting Actions

Industrial Relations

  • Formulate and advance the IR strategy for the South region.
  • Oversee employee relations by serving as an intermediary between employees and management.
  • Coordinate mediation efforts to assist in resolving conflicts and fostering a harmonious workplace.

Manpower planning & controlling

  • Overseeing recruitment within budget managing contract labour and ensuring adherence to labour regulations while also taking on a vital role in grievance resolution and negotiations with unions to avoid conflicts and sustain seamless operations.

Budgeting

  • Budget planning & preparation - Collaborating with plant HR heads and ER&IR Head to identify and define the necessary manpower resources to achieve regional HR objectives. Preparing and submitting a detailed annual manpower budget proposal that aligns with the overall organizational objectives and strategic priorities.
  • Budget Management - Continuously monitoring actual expenditures (HC labour cost welfare expenses) the budgeted amounts using financial reports and data. Analysing any significant variances between budget vs actual identifying potential problems and suggesting corrective actions.

Legal Compliances

  • To ensure the organization adheres to all local state and national labour laws and regulations. His/her responsibility is to specifically focus on minimizing legal risks associated with the employer-employee relationship and industrial operations within Southern region.
  • They are tasked with developing and executing internal policies and procedures that conform to external legal norms thereby ensuring uniform and compliant practices throughout the region.
  • The IR head manages employee grievances disciplinary matters and industrial disputes ensuring all processes are fair transparent and in compliance with legal requirements to avoid litigation and strikes.
  • He/She act as the primary point of contact and company representative with government labour departments regulatory bodies external counsel and trade unions during inspections audits and legal proceedings.

Interplant Audits

  • He/She leads regular internal compliance reviews and risk assessments at other plants of YIPL to identify potential vulnerabilities or non-compliance areas and implement corrective actions.

Contract Labour Management

  • Overseeing the entire contract lifecycle from needs identification and negotiation to execution and renewal or close-out. This involves vetting contractors leading negotiations on contractual terms and conditions to ensure they are favourable and legally sound monitoring the performance of contractors against agreed-upon terms deadlines and quality standards managing budgets related to contract labour including verifying payroll monitoring costs and ensuring accurate billing.
  • The regional IR head is also responsible for ensuring that third-party contractors and vendors comply with all applicable labour laws and contractual obligations mitigating co-employment risks.
