Job Summary

Coordinator Instructional Technology

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Coordinator Instructional Technology is a management level position under the general direction of the Associate Superintendent Learning & Innovation or designee. The Coordinator Instructional Technology will work in partnership with the District Information Systems Manager to oversee the district technology department. The Coordinator will develop and organize programs staff development and projects related to technology STEAM education and other emerging technology integration such as artificial intelligence. The Coordinator will perform related duties including: development of instructional technology programs delivering staff professional development evaluating technology curriculum and applications track district technology usage and data and present information to a variety of audiences including staff students parents management and our school board. The Coordinator will provide appropriate assistance and support for instructional programs and assessment by working closely with all Learning and Innovation department Directors. This person oversees the User Experience Specialist and iSTEAM2 Specialist positions.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Participate in coordinate and/or conduct a variety of professional development committees training workshops and/or conferences in order to present materials and information concerning student learning and instructional technology strategies;
  • Supervise and create integration of all STEAM related instruction throughout the district including planning professional development organizing informational or STEAM nights collaborating with our Extended Care Program and oversight of any STEAM related positions;
  • Supervise lead provide development for and work with site management to evaluate our User Experience Support Specialists in the area of instructional technology;
  • Partner with the District Information Systems Manager to manage the technology department;
  • Work in collaboration with instructional ToSAs and all Directors;
  • Prepare and deliver presentations on all instructional technology;
  • Create and maintain a district level technology plan in collaboration with the District Information Systems Manager;
  • Maintain and revise any technology plans as they relate to emerging technologies including our artificial intelligence plan and guidebook;
  • Host committees for staff feedback plan professional development and provide guidance on emerging technologies;
  • Collect and monitor technology application data as well as data pertinent to district initiatives such as integrating collaboration communication creativity and critical thinking into instruction;
  • Interact with the general community in a positive manner to promote current USD initiatives.
  • Oversee our library catalog including developing and updating current libraries in coordination with any library personnel;
  • Advise teachers and administrators in instructional technology strategies use of materials and equipment and implementation of State and Federal programs and procedures;
  • Recommend future growth scheduling for refresh and upgrades purchases of software and software modules and innovative solutions for forward-thinking technology solutions;
  • Create digital citizenship media literacy lessons and other lessons as they relate to appropriate use of instructional technologies;
  • Support timely and accurate data reporting for CALPADS with the Information Systems Manager;
  • Organize professional development for the community as it relates to instructional technologies;
  • Facilitate training User Experience Support Specialists;
  • Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others; and perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Certification Education and Experience:
Must have any combination equivalent to: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university; Masters degree with major coursework in Educational Leadership Curriculum Instruction or a related field; five (5) years of teaching counseling or school psychology experience; Possess or have the ability to possess a California Administrative Credential and prerequisite Teaching or Pupil Personnel Services Credential; demonstrated leadership and organizational abilities and a valid California drivers license.

SALARY & BENEFITS:
The Coordinator Instructional Technology is compensated per the Management Salary Schedule. This position works 221 days (Full time). The District provides a competitive benefit package.

Conduct frequent repetitive arm hand and body motion.
