Responsibilities
- The W37 Machine Shop manufactures prototypes and test apparatus hardware supporting Joint Interservice and service-specific experiments assessments and demonstrations.
- The Engineering Technician will support all aspects of the manufacturing process including design for manufacturability analysis and administrative record keeping.
- Responsibilities include:
- Setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments
- Working closely with engineers and designers to bring new concepts to life
- Fabricating modifying and repairing prototype components.
- This role requires a high degree of precision attention to detail and the ability to interpret a technical data package (Drawings CAD Models sketches).
Qualifications
- A minimum of a current SECRET Clearance is required
- A minimum of 5 years of manufacturing training or similar industrial experience.
Experience in:
- Setting up and operating both CNC and manual machine tools including lathes mills laser etchers waterjets and EDM machines to produce high-quality prototype parts.
- Fabricating modifying and assembling prototype components from a variety of materials including metals (aluminum steel titanium) and plastics.
- Performing in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments (calipers micrometers CMM) to ensure parts meet strict tolerance and quality standards.
- Working directly with the engineering and design teams to provide feedback on part manufacturability suggest design improvements and troubleshoot issues.
- Ability to lift 50lbs

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $77600.00/Yr. - USD $129600.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
