Job Title: Assistant Chief Engineer
Location: Memphis Tennessee
Schedule: Tuesday Saturday 7:00 AM 4:00 PM
Pay: $35$37/hr
Overview
We are seeking a skilled Assistant Chief Engineer to support the operation maintenance and repair of commercial building systems. This leadership-focused hands-on role requires strong technical expertise across HVAC electrical and plumbing systems along with the ability to guide and support a maintenance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on HVAC electrical plumbing and building systems
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement effective repairs
- Monitor building automation systems (BAS) and respond to alarms
- Lead and support team members sharing technical knowledge and best practices
- Ensure work orders are completed on time using CMMS systems
- Conduct facility inspections and proactively identify maintenance needs
- Maintain safety standards and ensure compliance with all regulations
- Coordinate with vendors and support on-site subcontractor activities
- Assist with budgeting cost savings initiatives and operational improvements
- Provide excellent customer service with minimal disruption to occupants
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred
- Minimum 4 years of building engineering or facilities maintenance experience
- Universal EPA/CFC certification required
- Valid drivers license required
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems electrical plumbing and general building maintenance
Skills & Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents drawings and specifications
- Experience with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook Word Excel)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead train and support team members
- Comfortable working independently and in a team environment
- Willingness to be on-call and respond to emergencies within required timeframe
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally
- Climb ladders and work in mechanical spaces or outdoor conditions
- Work in environments with varying temperatures noise levels and equipment exposure
