HDPE Pipe Quality Control (QC) Specialist ensures High-Density Polyethylene pipes meet quality standards (BIS ASTM ISO) through raw material inspection in-process production monitoring and finished goods testing. Key tasks include testing for tensile strength pressure dimensions and wall thickness while managing lab equipment calibration and maintaining documentation.
Core Responsibilities
Material Testing: Sample and test raw HDPE granules for density melt flow index (MFI) moisture and carbon black content/dispersion.
In-Process Inspection: Monitor extrusion production parameters to ensure proper pipe dimensions ovality and wall thickness.
Finished Product Testing: Conduct hydrostatic pressure tests heat reversion tests and tensile strength tests.
Documentation & Compliance: Maintain detailed quality records inspection reports and calibration logs for equipment.
Non-Conformance Management: Identify defective products conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
Third-Party Coordination: Liaise with inspectors (e.g. SGS RITES CIPET) for final product certification.
Key Skills & Qualifications
Experience: 15 years in plastic pipe extrusion (PE/HDPE) quality control.
Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in testing methods ASTM/DIN/ISO/BIS standards and equipment calibration.
Attributes: Strong analytical skills attention to detail and ability to interpret engineering blueprints and specifications.
Education: Typically a Diploma or Degree in Polymer Science Plastics Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
