In this role the Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist will provide speech and language services within an elementary school setting working with students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. The clinician will develop and implement individualized therapy and assessment strategies designed to address communication challenges and promote student participation in the academic environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Participate in eligibility meetings and IEP planning discussions.
- Administer and interpret formal and informal assessment tools.
- Support culturally and linguistically responsive assessment practices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student success.
- Conduct speech and language evaluations for elementary students.
- Prepare comprehensive evaluation reports and service recommendations.
- Ensure documentation and evaluation timelines meet state and district requirements.
Requirements
Applicants must hold a Masters degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field and provide verification of an active Illinois Speech-Language Pathology license or eligibility for licensure. Candidates must also hold or be eligible to obtain an Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Speech-Language Pathology endorsement. Successful completion of background screening drug screening and professional reference checks is required.
