Role Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small-group academic support within resource classroom settings.
- Monitor and document student progress using data-driven methods to guide instructional decisions.
- Design implement and oversee Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with student goals.
- Establish a positive structured learning environment that encourages student engagement and confidence.
- Build strong partnerships with students families and school staff to promote academic and social-emotional development.
- Work alongside general education teachers to deliver inclusive co-taught instruction in math and English Language Arts (ELA) ensuring accommodations and modifications meet student needs.
Requirements
Applicants should possess a Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a closely related discipline and maintain a current Illinois Professional Educator License with a Special Education endorsement or have the ability to obtain licensure. Experience supporting elementary school learners is strongly desired along with knowledge of inclusive co-teaching environments and self-contained instructional settings. Successful candidates will demonstrate effective classroom leadership strong teamwork abilities and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
