Position Overview

FortisBC is seeking a strategic and technically strong leader to oversee enterprise networking and systems both onpremises and cloud environments. This role provides functional and technical leadership for connectivity collaboration and communication platforms ensuring they are secure scalable resilient and aligned with organizational goals. You will guide the longterm roadmap for enterprise networking and systems manage service operations and vendor contracts and drive innovation that supports the organizations evolving business strategy.

In this role you will:

  • Oversee enterprise networking and unified communications services including design implementation and support of voice video collaboration and connectivity platforms.
  • Lead strategies and capital projects to enhance reliability mobility and user experience across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Build organizational partnerships to align networking and systems initiatives with business needs providing architectural guidance.
  • Manage vendors and service agreements advocate for modern cloud-based solutions and identify opportunities for technical and cybersecurity improvements.
  • Resolve complex challenges mentor team members and establish KPIs and SLAs to ensure high-quality resilient services and guide long-term planning.

What it takes:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • 710 years of directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure and enduser technologies including networking and systems particularly within gas and electric utilities.
  • Understanding of security architectures governance and operations.

In this role you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week) subject to business or operational needs.
