Position Overview
Dokainish& Company is seeking a Senior Project Planner to provide senior-level schedule planning schedule analysis and schedule oversight services across complex capital renewal projects within a national science and research facility renewal program.
The successful candidate willbe responsible forthe development of integrated project schedules critical path analysis schedule risk assessment and schedule performance monitoring. This role requires a seasoned planning professional with deepexpertisein capital project scheduling strong analytical skills and the ability toprovidestrategic schedule advice to program leadership and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
Schedule Development and Planning
Develop andmaintainintegrated project schedules for complex capital renewal projects using Primavera P6
Define project sequencing activity logic durations milestones and critical path
Integrate cost-loaded and resource-loaded scheduling as required by program controls frameworks
Develop schedule basis documents scheduling narratives and planning assumptions
Support the development of master program schedules and schedule integration across projects
Schedule Monitoring and Control
Monitor project progress and schedule performance against approved baselines
Perform schedule variance analysis trend analysis and earned value schedule metrics
Conduct schedule risk analysis and develop risk-adjusted schedule scenarios
Identifyschedule risks delays and recovery strategies and provide recommendations to project teams
Review and assess contractor schedules progress claims and time extension requests
Program Reporting and Governance
Prepare schedule reports dashboards and executive summaries for program leadership and governance bodies
Support governance reviews milestone tracking and program-level schedule reporting
Maintain schedule baselines logs and audit trailsin accordance withprogram standards
Contribute to continuous improvement of scheduling standards processes and tools
Stakeholder Coordination
Collaborate with project managers cost specialists engineers and program leadership
Providestrategic schedule advice to support project and program decision-making
Facilitate schedule workshops look-ahead sessions and progress review meetings
Key Deliverables
Integrated project schedules (Primavera P6)
Schedule basis documents and planning narratives
Schedule analysis reports variance reports and trend analyses
Schedule risk analysis and scenario reports
Schedule forecasts and milestone tracking reports
Executive-level schedule summaries and dashboards
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelors degree in Engineering Construction Management Project Management or a closely related discipline
Certifications/ Other
Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP) certification from AACE International Preferred
PMP certification or equivalent considered an asset
Must hold or be eligible to obtain Federal Government Reliability Status security clearance
Experience
Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive project planning and scheduling experience in the construction or infrastructure sector
Demonstrated experience supporting complex capital programs or multi-project portfolio environments
Experience with institutional laboratory healthcare or specialized infrastructure projects preferred
Experience with schedule risk analysis methodologies and tools
Technical Competencies
Advancedproficiencywith Oracle Primavera P6 (scheduling resource loading cost loading reporting)
Strong knowledge of critical path method (CPM) earned value management (EVM) and schedule risk analysis
Proficiencywith Microsoft Excel Microsoft Project and schedule analysis tools
Familiarity with project controls frameworks and integrated cost-schedule management
Professional Competencies
Strong analytical strategic and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in complex program environments
High degree of professional integrity attention to detail and commitment to quality
