A day in the life
- Start your shift by aligning the team on goals quality specifications and safety expectations. You motivate and evaluate performance while nurturing a culture of continuous improvement.
- Champion safety: conduct proactive audits reinforce procedures file incident reports and investigate close calls to drive learning and prevention.
- Monitor quality at each stage ensuring specifications are consistently met and standard procedures are followed.
- Develop your people: train the team on company procedures with an emphasis on safety product quality and meeting production targets.
- Partner cross-functionally: collaborate with HR on payroll processing staffing and personnel or labor matters; coordinate with peer supervisors to communicate critical updates at shift change.
- Own the numbers: manage throughput and scrap to meet or beat shift goals.
- Troubleshoot issues fast: work with support personnel to resolve process equipment and material problems as they arise.
What you bring
- Bachelors degree (Industrial Management preferred) is a plus but not required.
- 5 years of successful production supervision ideally in a manufacturing setting.
- Comfort with Microsoft Office and the curiosity to learn new systems quickly.
- Self-starter who can work independently with minimal oversight.
- Analytical resourceful problem-solver with a track record of quick effective resolutions.
- Collaborative leader who builds strong relationships with hourly employees peers and management.
- Clear confident communicator in writing and verbally; able to present to groups of employees customers or suppliers.
