The Role: Senior Financial Manager / Group Financial Controller
This role holds full financial ownership of the finance function across the group. Reporting directly to the CEO you will lead operational finance drive strategic initiatives manage consolidations strengthen controls and oversee a finance team of approximately 10 professionals. The position requires a hands-on yet strategic finance leader capable of running the function end-to-end while supporting business growth and scalability.
Key Responsibilities

5 years experience in a Financial Manager or Group Finance leadership role within a multi-entity structure

Lead the full operational finance function across multiple group entities
-
Oversee cash flow management transactional integrity and financial controls
-
Deliver accurate monthly quarterly and annual financial reporting
-
Prepare consolidated financial statements and management packs
-
Manage intercompany transactions eliminations reconciliations and consolidations
-
Lead month-end close processes including journals provisions accruals and fixed asset registers
-
Strengthen internal controls and governance frameworks
-
Ensure compliance with IFRS statutory requirements and tax legislation
-
Oversee liquidity management cash flow forecasting and financial modelling
-
Lead external audits and manage audit readiness across all entities

Manage mentor and develop a finance team of approximately 10 professionals

Drive performance accountability and professional growth within the team
About You
-
Proven experience in a Financial Manager or Group Finance leadership role
-
Experience managing multi-entity group structures
-
Strong audit compliance and reporting expertise
-
Demonstrated success leading and developing finance teams
-
Advanced financial analysis modelling and reporting capability
-
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field
-
CA(SA) designation strongly preferred (ACCA CIMA or equivalent considered)

Strong understanding of IFRS/GAAP tax legislation and regulatory frameworks

Proficiency in financial software such as Sage Xero QuickBooks or ERP systems
-
Advanced MS Excel skills

Knowledge of payroll systems payroll legislation SARS compliance and labour law

Familiarity with Employment Equity and Skills Development legislation

Experience in fintech technology or financial services environments advantageous

Exposure to high-growth or scaling organisations advantageous

Experience implementing automation financial systems or process optimisation initiatives advantageous
