Make a difference as a Director of Finance
The Director of Finance at James Island Christian School plays a crucial role in overseeing the financial payroll and human resources functions of our institution. Collaborating closely with the Head of School Board members and external partners the Director of Finance works diligently to maintain the financial health and operational integrity of the school. What matters most
To excel as the Director of Finance at James Island Christian School candidates should possess a Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration or a related field with a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred. A strong background in school finance payroll or nonprofit accounting is highly valuable as well as proficiency in essential software tools including QuickBooks FACTS iSolved Payfluence and Google Workspace. Successful candidates will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage confidential information with integrity. Excellent organizational communication and time-management skills are also essential enabling the Director to navigate the complexities of financial oversight while supporting the schools mission.
These competencies will ensure effective collaboration with faculty staff and external partners fostering a financially sound and service-driven educational environment.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
