An established organisation with a complex operating environment requires a seasoned Programme Lead to coordinate and deliver a portfolio of strategic change initiatives spanning multiple business and technology domains. The position carries accountability for shaping execution plans aligning senior stakeholders and ensuring that large initiatives translate into measurable operational and customer value.
This role oversees a collection of interrelated initiatives that collectively enable new capabilities improved customer engagement and more efficient fulfilment and service processes. The successful incumbent will operate at both strategic and execution levels ensuring that priorities are translated into structured delivery with clear outcomes financial discipline and controlled risk.
Primary Accountabilities
1. Enterprise Programme Direction- Take ownership of a portfolio of linked initiatives with shared outcomes and dependencies
- Translate strategic intent into structured delivery plans sequencing work across multiple teams
- Maintain a consolidated view of progress milestones constraints and cross-programme impacts
- Guide delivery from early concept through to operational adoption and value tracking
2. Capability Enablement- Coordinate initiatives that introduce or enhance customer interaction channels transactional platforms and operational support systems
- Oversee complex integrations between front-end engagement layers back-office processes and data services
- Ensure solutions are robust scalable and aligned with long-term architectural direction
3. Oversight Controls & Assurance- Establish appropriate decision forums and reporting rhythms for senior leadership
- Ensure delivery activities follow internal controls approval gates and assurance expectations
- Provide concise updates on progress risks financial exposure and dependency management
- Intervene early where delivery health indicators show deviation
4. Commercial & Financial Stewardship- Manage overall funding envelopes forecasts and spend tracking
- Work closely with finance partners to maintain transparency on investment utilisation
- Support the shaping of business cases and monitor realised value against original intent
5. Stakeholder Alignment- Engage senior leaders across business and enabling functions to maintain shared direction
- Coordinate external partners and specialist providers contributing to delivery
- Facilitate timely decisions where competing priorities or constraints exist
6. Leadership & Delivery Culture- Provide guidance and support to project and delivery managers within the programme structure
- Encourage disciplined planning clear accountability and continuous improvement
- Contribute to strengthening enterprise delivery capability and consistency
Key requirementsEducation requirements- Relevant tertiary qualification (Degree) in a business engineering or technology-related field
- Formal certification in structured delivery or programme leadership approaches is required (i.e. PMP PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent)
- MSP PgMP or similar in addition to the aforementioned required qualifications is highly advantageous
Experience required- Extensive track record coordinating large multi-stream initiatives in complex organisations
- Experience managing work delivered by multiple vendors and internal teams
- Demonstrated ability to operate across both iterative and plan-driven delivery approaches
- Exposure to environments with high transaction volumes or customer-facing services beneficial
