| Job Description: | The UF Health CancerInstituteis the 72nd NCI designated cancer center and the onlyone at a public university in the State of Florida. As a matrix cancer center we spanallof the University of Floridas 16 colleges pulling together a world-class multi-disciplinary membership of over 350 faculty and 150 staff to address the challenges of the cancer burden faced by the population we serve as we work together to find a cure. As an Academic Programs Assistantat the UF Health CancerInstitute(UFHCI) you willbe responsible for assisting in the development of a database of science teachers across the State of Florida and southeast to connect with UFHCI and Cancer Training & Education Program resources and conferences as well as other similar program support activities. In your new role you willbe responsible forthe following: Researching and organizing information. Data entry for teacher records. Communicating with teachers across the catchment area. - Supporting programmatic activities including program events communications etc.

| Expected Salary: | $15 hourly |

| Minimum Requirements: | This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) and must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis up to 20 hours per week. Successful pre-employment screening including a background check. |

| Preferred Qualifications: | Experience in a professional office environment particularly in higher education healthcare research or similar preferred Currently seeking a degree in Education Public Administration Business Administration or appropriately relevant field
Qualities: - Strong desire to learn seek out and apply new knowledge methods and information.
- Strong oral and written communications skills especially proof-reading and public speaking.
Skills/Abilities: - Ability to establish and maintain professional and effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to distinguish and properly manage confidential information and protected data including sensitive documents PHI etc.
- Appropriate organization and communication skills to support collaborative work across teams and functions.
- Success using the Microsoft Office suite.
