The First Nation School Board (FNSB) was established in February 2022. Our main office is located in Whitehorse Yukon on the traditional territories of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and the Taan Kwächän Council. FNSB serves and works in partnership withVuntut Gwitchin First Nation Liard First Nation Ross River Dena Council Champagne and Aishihik First Nation White River First Nation Taan Kwächän Council Kwanlin Dün First Nation Selkirk First Nation Carcross/Tagish First Nation and Kluane First Nationfor the schools and Learners on their territories.

Communications Advisor plays a key role in strengthening clear respectful and culturally- grounded communication across the First Nation School Board (FNSB) and its school communities including staff Learners families partners and the public. Reporting to the Director of Policy and Communications this role leads the development and implementation of communication strategies aligned with the Boards mission vision and values and manages a wide range of external and internal communication products such as websites social media newsletters events media relations and promotional materials.
The Communications Advisor supports transparency collaboration and engagement by delivering timely accurate and accessible information maintaining brand standards and communication policies and continuously evaluating communication approaches to ensure effectiveness and cultural responsiveness. With a strong commitment to Learners success and Yukon First Nations pedagogy this role integrates Indigenous ways of knowing storytelling and relationship-based practices into all communications products fostering meaningful connections and positive partnerships that reflect the unique cultures languages and priorities of FNSB communities.
