Job Summary

Summary

The Library Technology Analyst (LTA) participates in the Library and Research Services (LRS) Digital Technology projects at all stages from initial conception planning and implementation; support and refinement; and monitoring and reporting on usage. The LTA works with other members of the LRS team and members of the IT Data and AI and KM departments to find technology solutions to research problems. The LTA works with vendors to implement new features of research web sites and promote those features at the firm. On a limited basis and where appropriate the LTA is responsible for providing technical support to the LRS team and members of the firm when problems arise with research web sites and other resources managed by LRS. The LTA participates in the LRS on-boarding process of new attorneys and other projects as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in project management efforts with library technology including piloting and onboarding new technologies and features of research products
  • Contribute to the library catalog of current online research resources with descriptions and access information.
  • Configure and troubleshoot access to new and existing research services including supporting SSO individual user accounts and other access methods. Collaborate with LRS vendors and Sidley stakeholders to ensure seamless service experience across research products
  • Maintain and update Research Monitor to track resource usage.
  • Act as a liaison between LRS and other departments (including IT KM and Data and AI department) by tracking ongoing LRS projects and technology issues.
  • Participate in the ongoing assessment and enhancement of library automation and technology.
  • Analyze statistics and prepare reports on the use of LRS products and services for management and other stakeholders.
  • Other duties as required.

Salaries vary by location and are based on numerous factors including but not limited to the relevant market skills experience and education of the selected candidate. Education and/or Experience:

Required:

  • MLS or MLIS from an ALA Accredited University.
  • Experience working with legal digital resources including Lexis Westlaw and Bloomberg Law.
  • Demonstrable computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office SharePoint and managing websites.

Preferred:

  • Experience with project management methods and techniques including software such as SmartSheet.
  • Experience with Quest or similar request tracking software.
  • Experience with web site monitoring software like Research Monitor or OneLog.
  • Familiarity with Tableau PowerBI or other statistical analysis products.
  • Experience working in a law or corporate research/knowledge services department.
  • Familiarity with a wide variety of legal and business research tools.
  • Working knowledge of computer networking internet and file transfer protocols markup languages database management and other technological tools and standards.
  • Knowledge of at least one computer programming language.
  • Knowledge of current issues and trends related to legal technology including AI products.
