Job Summary
This is a perfect role for a lead or new supervisor looking for career advancement!
One of our valued food manufacturing clients in Franklin Park IL is seeking an experienced Dock Shipping & Receiving Supervisor (Dock Supervisor) to support operations in a fast-paced temperature-controlled warehouse and production environment. This is a hands-on working Dock Supervisor role focused on accuracy safety and daily execution on the shipping and receiving dock.
Key Responsibilities Dock Shipping & Receiving Supervisor
Directly support dock department activities and productivity as the Dock Shipping & Receiving Supervisor
Supervise pickers material handlers and dock traffic daily
Oversee carrier appointments and inbound/outbound trailer movements
Perform and supervise regular inventory counts and weight checks
Ensure FIFO is maintained at all times
Verify that all product is counted accurately per pick sheets and that correct lot numbers are picked and recorded
Ensure truck trailers are tempered properly and temperatures are documented
Maintain accurate recordkeeping and properly close out all orders before releasing drivers
Enforce GMPs HACCP and SQF guidelines on the dock
Report any unsafe conditions or behaviors and escalate issues as needed
Communicate with Maintenance Quality and Sanitation when product issues arise
Maintain a clean organized and safe dock area at all times
Assist with training and supporting dock crew members as needed
What You Bring Dock Shipping & Receiving Supervisor
High School Diploma or GED
Prior experience as a Dock Shipping & Receiving Supervisor Dock Lead or Warehouse Supervisor
Experience in a cold/freezer environment (down to -10F)
Hands-on experience with forklifts reach trucks and pallet jacks (manual & electric)
Working knowledge of ERP or WMS inventory systems
Basic computer skills (Excel Outlook Word)
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs unassisted and work on your feet for long periods

Pay:$21.00 $25.00 per hour (based on experience)
Shift: To be discussed with the client (includes overtime potential)
