Job Summary

SH-833- Business Operations Analyst Indiana. Position Overview

The incumbent manages the Office of Data and Analytics (ODA) budget and provides financial reports to the Finance team as needed. The position advises leadership on the optimal use of funds to support the hiring and retention of personnel necessary to meet ODAs commitments across the agency.

In addition the incumbent contributes to organizational strategy development to enhance team efficiency and productivity supports quality assurance for ODA data products collaborates with the Office of Performance Excellence on agency strategic planning and KPI tracking and advises on relationship management between ODA and other divisions. The role also supports business operations projects focused on improving internal communications provides project coordination for high-priority initiatives and completes other assigned duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain comprehensive tracking of all ODA budgets and complete Finance deliverables accurately and on time.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of business operations strategies.

  • Develop and maintain metrics dashboards and reports to monitor ODA performance and operational efficiency.

  • Assist with drafting updating and maintaining job descriptions to ensure positions are properly classified by SPD and aligned with current operational needs.

  • Collaborate with the Chief Data Officer Deputy Chief Data Officer and team directors to test and implement new systems processes or procedures that improve efficiency and workflow.

  • Prepare detailed reports analyses and presentations for leadership including findings and recommendations.

  • Provide project coordination and communications support for business operations and strategic initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and applicable state statutes governing data confidentiality and individual privacy.

  • Support IDOH Data Transformation projects and related activities as requested.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities / Direct Reports

This position has no direct reports. The incumbent may serve as a project or initiative lead and may delegate tasks to coworkers with guidance and support from senior staff.

Difficulty of Work

Work assignments encompass a broad range of complex project responsibilities requiring strong communication interpersonal and collaboration skills. The role demands sound judgment the application of specialized knowledge and the ability to think critically and make informed decisions to accomplish objectives effectively.

Responsibility

The incumbent works independently and collaboratively within general guidelines established by the Office of Data and Analytics to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. The position is responsible for keeping supervisors and coworkers informed of progress and escalating challenges or issues as appropriate.

Work performed impacts ODA priorities specific IDOH program areas and at times broader agency initiatives under the supervision of the Director of Data Governance & Business Operations.

Personal Work Relationships

This position works independently and as part of cross-functional teams with support from data analysts senior data analysts and team leadership. The incumbent maintains productive working relationships with project teams and program staff both within and outside the Office of Data and Analytics.

Working Conditions
  • Work is performed indoors in a standard office environment.
