Return to Work Specialist (Ergonomics & Disability)

Opportunity in the insurance industry supporting disability and return-to-work cases. Looking for a professional with a background in kinesiology or ergonomics solid understanding of vocational rehabilitation and openness to frequent travel across Ontario. Role offers flexibility autonomy and the chance to make a meaningful impact.

What is in it for you:

Hourly salary of $22.79.
16-month contract with potential for permanent employment.
Full-time position 35 to 40 hours per week.
Weekday schedule from 9:00 am. to 5:00 pm.
Remote work arrangement with frequent travel across Ontario approximately 75 percent of the week.
Valid drivers license and access to a personal vehicle required.
Flexible hours depending on travel and client needs.
High level of independence in daily responsibilities.
Opportunity to gain valuable experience in case management and disability operations.


Responsibilities:

Conduct ergonomic evaluations and facilitate return-to-work meetings virtually and in person.
Collaborate with Case Managers to manage medical and non-medical cases using goal-oriented plans.
Support Absence Management Consultation Services by contributing to timely return-to-work outcomes for clients employees.
Maintain ongoing communication with internal and external stakeholders to arrange assessments and meetings.
Document findings and recommendations clearly and accurately.
Actively contribute to the success and profitability of the Group Disability program.
Work independently while aligning with broader team goals and processes.

What you will need to succeed:

University degree in Kinesiology Ergonomics or a related field.
Ergonomics training or coursework is preferred.
Completion of insurance industry courses is considered an asset.
Experience in rehabilitation vocational rehabilitation or case management is an asset.
Valid drivers license and access to a personal vehicle for frequent regional travel.
Strong understanding of occupational health vocational rehabilitation and disability insurance.
Good knowledge of medical terminology.
Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Word and Excel.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
