We are looking for a passionate and motivated Demi Chef to join our culinary team at Hotel Chadstone Melbourne MGallery on a part time basis. Our kitchens support a diverse food offering across Pastore our signature modern Italian restaurant as well as the main kitchen including Conferences and Events In Room Dining and bar service. This role offers variety development and exposure to multiple styles of service within a luxury hotel environment.
If you enjoy working with quality ingredients learning from experienced chefs and being part of a collaborative kitchen team this role will allow you to grow your skills while contributing to exceptional guest experiences across the hotel.
What you will be doing
- Assist in the preparation cooking and presentation of dishes across Pastore Conferences and Events In Room Dining and bar menus
- Support senior chefs with daily kitchen operations mise en place and service periods
- Maintain high standards of hygiene organisation and food safety across all kitchen sections
- Work collaboratively with culinary and front of house teams to deliver smooth and efficient service
- Assist with menu preparation portion control and stock rotation across multiple outlets
- Develop your skills by working across different service styles and events
- Support consistency quality and attention to detail in every dish produced
- Ensure all health safety and food handling standards are followed at all times

- Previous experience as a Demi Chef Commis Chef or similar role in a professional kitchen
- A genuine passion for food and delivering high quality dishes across varied service environments
- Strong attention to detail consistency and presentation
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced and high volume kitchen
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Strong communication skills and a positive team focused attitude
- Willingness to learn and adapt across different kitchen sections and styles
- Availability to work on a 7 days rotating roster including mornings evenings weekends and public holidays
