Two-Year-Old Teacher

JOB SUMMARY

The Lead Teacher is responsible for all classroom health and Safety as they guide the classroom through a lesson by preparing materials interacting with students and supervising projects. Ensures in the daily management and supervision of classroom and children as directed by Kiddie Academy Administration.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Supervises children during all activities.

Attends and participates in staff meetings Academy events and parent meetings as requested.

Develops plans and prepares instructional aids and materials for classroom activities as needed.

Ensures that appearance cleanliness and safe environment of classroom are appropriately maintained in accordance with the NAEYC cleaning and sanitizing guidelines.

• responsible for learning and implementing all NAEYC and QRIS standards and ensuring others in classroom are implementing NAEYC and QRIS standards correctly.

Ensures the physical and emotional needs of the children are met daily.

Ensures all policies and procedures are being implemented to keep the children healthy and safe.

Supports children with mealtimes and cleanup.

Ensures all Academy and classroom paperwork is completed: for example daily notes accident reports and attendance reports.

Prepares and implements classroom lesson plans programs and schedule.

Ensures that all classroom and outdoor equipment are in good working condition and are used and maintained properly.

Responsible for attending workshops conferences and in-service training as requested.

Reports any problems to the Kiddie Academy Administration Assistant Director or the Academy Director.

Reports to Academy Assistant Director when not able to attend work.

Must be able to lift no less than 40 pounds to at least waist high on a consistent basis throughout the workday.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Accepts temporary work assignments in the event regularly scheduled personnel are not available; for example takes full responsibility for the classroom in the absence of the classroom Teacher or may write submit and implement a weekly lesson plan.

Performs other similar or related duties as necessary. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

Must meet all state and local licensing requirements for the position.

Must have high school diploma or equivalent and be 18 years of age or must be in a high school work study program relating to the area of child care.

Must receive the required amount of training hours if any each calendar year per state licensing requirements.

Candidate must pass all state medical requirements and have a clear background check to qualify for employment.
