The Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife is seeking to fill two (2) Office Specialist I positions out of the Augusta office.

Salary: $18.76 - $27.03 Per Hour

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: This is office and administrative support work. The successful applicants will be a collaborative member of a small team of people whose primary responsibility is:

  • Performing complex varied office support tasks.
  • Working directly with customers in person on the phone through the internet and by mail.
  • Providing oral and written information explaining various licensing and registration requirements in accordance with office standards.
  • Administering and issuing licenses registrations and miscellaneous licenses and permits on the MOSES system and through the internet.
  • Processing and collecting payment for licenses and registrations (including closing out the register and balancing payments at the end of each day).

The successful candidates should have extensive experience in the use of computers and various computer applications.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in cash handling and working with the public both in person and on the phone.

MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS: Training education or experience in office and administrative support work that demonstrates 1) competency in applying a proficient knowledge of modern office practices to perform advanced administrative support tasks requiring specialized skills and 2) the ability to use independent judgment initiative and discretion to make determinations on varied matters. All positions in this classification assume the qualifications of:Office Assistant IOffice Assistant IIOffice Associate IandOffice Associate II.
