Duties & Responsibilities
Tax Compliance Backlog Management:
Submit and/or amend historical income tax returns across six jurisdictions.
Resolve all resulting tax authority queries and manage audits from start to finish.
Catch up on transfer pricing compliance requirements.
Tax Projects & Risk Management:
Lead Voluntary Disclosure processes endtoend.
Pursue outstanding tax refunds.
Manage tax audits ensuring timely responses and highquality submissions.
Oversee incountry tax consultants and ensure quality of work performed.
Assess consultant reports for risks and collaborate with finance and tax teams on remediation.
Participate in tax health checks advisory opinions and auditorrelated reporting.
Support the rollout of Transfer Pricing Documentation and contribute to transaction assessments.
Obtain withholding tax DTA rate approvals.
Review taxrelevant agreements as needed.
Tax Accounting & Reporting:
Calculate income tax and deferred tax for accruals and provisional taxes.
Ensure accuracy and integrity of all relevant tax accounts in the trial balance.
Maintain group tax tracking schedules.
Prepare clear timely status reports for management and shareholders.
Maintain accurate openitem tracking on Jira daily.
General Responsibilities:
Assist the wider finance team as required.
Stay up to date with regulatory developments in all relevant countries.
Advise on the tax impact of proposed business or structural changes.
Perform ad hoc tasks as needed.
Attributes Required:
Ability to understand complex multinational group structures.
Strong project management capability with accountability for endtoend delivery.
Able to thrive in a fastpaced scaling environment.
Solid understanding of crossborder tax principles and dispute resolution processes.
Comfortable with large complex multinational tax returns.
Able to engage professionally at all levels of seniority.
High accuracy in calculations and accounting.
Continuous improvement mindset.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years postarticles experience in tax within a multinational group or tax/accounting practice.
Professional membership: SAIT SAIPA ACCA SAIBA AGA(SA) CA(SA) or equivalent.
Completed articles preferably in tax.
BCom plus Postgraduate qualification in Tax.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent numerical ability and high attention to detail.
Able to work both independently and collaboratively.
Strong organisational planning and time management skills.
Excellent English communication skills (written & verbal).
Strong analytical diagnostic and problemsolving capabilities.
Ability to integrate information and prepare highquality reports.
Professionalism confidentiality resilience and adaptability.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work under sustained pressure.
Selfmotivated with strong initiative and followthrough.
