Duties:
- Drive continuous improvement across actuarial processes with a focus on efficiency and scalability.
- Drive end-to-end technology delivery by coordinating cross-functional teams and stakeholders to implement scalable solutions.
- Partner with business and technology owners to manage scope prioritisation and delivery cadence aligned to strategic objectives.
- Ensure delivery readiness by aligning work intake with team capacity managing velocity and overseeing iterative system delivery.
- Identify manage and resolve risks issues dependencies and cross-team impediments impacting delivery.
- Establish and maintain delivery artefacts covering planning architecture resourcing budgeting governance and change management.
- Ensure alignment with IT policies standards and governance while managing environments and integration boundaries.
- Drive continuous improvement by managing technical debt improving delivery maturity and uplifting quality standards.
- Oversee legacy system constraints and decommissioning activities in line with technology roadmaps.
Qualifications:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- A bachelors degree in IT Computer Science Engineering or a related field is required.
- Professional certifications in enterprise architecture or relevant technology frameworks and methodologies are a plus.
- Proven experience managing software development or delivery teams including leading technical teams.
- Hands-on experience in database management or software development roles.
- Experience in environments requiring quality validation and adherence to standards.
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
- Demonstrated responsibility for delivering results in fast-paced dynamic environments.
- Solid business acumen to align technology delivery with business objectives.
- Experience in the insurance industry is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Project Management principles and methodologies.
- Familiarity with the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Practical experience with Agile development principles is highly desirable.
- Project management experience is an asset.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills; able to manage multiple tasks and projects under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and relationship-building abilities with stakeholders and users.
- Sound decision-making problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- Ability to prioritize effectively and work well under pressure.
