Mission of Denton Public School Foundation:
The Denton Public School Foundation is a nonprofit organization that raises and distributes funds to benefit Denton ISD students and staff through scholarships grants and program support. The foundation has awarded significant funding in scholarships and grants since its inception and supports innovative classroom initiatives staff scholarships and student scholarships.
Primary Purpose:
Provide strategic Board leadership development and operational oversight for the Denton Public School Foundation. Collaborate with the Board on and coordinate community engagement donor relations and foundation initiatives. Ensure fiscal integrity sustainable growth and alignment of foundation activities with district priorities and community needs.
Qualifications:
Education and Certification
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university
- Preferably in nonprofit management business administration education leadership public administration or a related field
- Masters degree (preferred)
- Certified Fundraising Executive or similar credentials (preferred)
Experience
- Significant experience in nonprofit board development fundraising marketing communications and foundation management
- Demonstrated success in supporting board members in developing organizational strategy managing donor engagement and community partnership activities
- Supervisory or leadership experience managing staff and/or volunteers
Knowledge and Skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of public-school systems nonprofit governance fundraising strategies and community engagement best practices
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills including public speaking presentations and proposal writing
- Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with donors community leaders and organizational stakeholders
- Proficient with office productivity tools and donor/CRM database systems
- Advanced organizational analytical interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to develop and manage budgets and interpret financial statements
Key Responsibilities:
Foundation Development & Fundraising
- In conjunction with the Board of Directors develop and implement strategic fundraising plans aligned with foundation goals and district priorities.
- Utilize Board members to identify cultivate solicit and steward individual corporate and institutional donors to expand financial support.
- Assist in successful grant writing sponsorship development and fundraising events to support foundation programs and initiatives.
- Strengthen donor relationships through ongoing stewardship strategies that promote long-term engagement.
- Track and report donor and fundraising performance metrics using data-informed decision-making.
Board & Volunteer Leadership
- Manage the ongoing process of identification recruitment selection training and supporting highly qualified board members.
- Provide leadership and operational support to the Foundation Board of Directors and collaborate on long-range goals and strategic direction.
- Support board committees and volunteers to ensure effective governance engagement and sustainability of foundation efforts.
- Facilitate board development activities including onboarding orientation and succession planning.
Community Engagement & Outreach
- Assist the board in developing and maintaining partnerships with local businesses civic organizations and community leaders to support foundation goals.
- Promote the foundation as a visible and credible community resource that engages diverse audiences.
- Coordinate the foundations activities in professional and community organizations that enhance foundation visibility and impact.
Marketing Communications & Public Relations
- Serve as the primary staff spokesperson for the foundation to community groups media outlets and public audiences.
- Lead the development and execution of the foundations internal and external communications strategy.
- Oversee production of foundation publications marketing materials newsletters and digital content.
- Ensure consistent and compelling messaging that reflects the foundations mission and values.
- Amplify foundation impact through storytelling branding and multi-platform outreach initiatives.
Financial Stewardship & Compliance
- Assist the Board in developing and monitoring the foundations annual budget.
- Ensure the fiscal integrity of the foundation including accurate financial reporting and compliance with nonprofit regulations.
- Coordinate required audits and compliance filings (e.g. IRS Form 990) in a timely manner.
- Analyze financial trends and make strategic recommendations to support financial sustainability.
- Allocate staff resources effectively to support foundation priorities and operational needs.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all district policies procedures and expectations as outlined in the employee handbook and administrative regulations.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Engage in strategic planning leadership collaboration and continuous professional growth aligned with the goals of the department and district.
- Perform additional duties assigned to support the mission and goals of the Foundation.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise evaluate and recommend employment actions (hiring placement renewal and nonrenewal) for assigned personnel.

Tools and Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping pushing/pulling and twisting
