Performs work in the construction renovation modification installation and repair of streets. Performs construction pipe installation and cement work including laying curbs streets sidewalks; working on a variety of structures; and performing related work incidental to these tasks. Is required to work under adverse environmental conditions. Work is performed under the supervision of a higher classification and reviewed by direct observation while in progress and upon completion.
Minimum Qualifications:
Utility Service Worker I:
High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate. Must be able to read write and follow instructions. Six (6) months of experience in road construction building construction masonry or related experience desired. Valid State of Florida Drivers License required.
Utility Service Worker II:
High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate and two (2) years of experience in road construction. Experience should include storm drain construction or asphalt or brick construction sidewalk curb and miscellaneous concrete construction or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
Florida Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Class B or higher required. Must be able to be reliably contacted by phone in case of an urgent work situation.
Progression from a Utility Service Worker I to a Utility Service Worker II will be based on related work experience.

If this posting indicates a degree is required the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelors degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a masters degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
