Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Public Relations this role leads external messaging media relations public affairs executive communications crisis response and brand storytelling across multiple channels. The Manager provides strategic counsel ensures alignment with brand and mission and collaborates within and across departments to deliver clear consistent and impactful communications.

You would

  • Develop and execute integrated PR and communications strategies aligned with ECCUs brand and strategic priorities.
  • Collaborate with department leaders legal compliance and executives to ensure clear consistent messaging.
  • Advise senior leadership and the Board on communication strategy and effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media journalists influencers and PR agencies.
  • Develop outreach strategies to engage members partners and external audiences.
  • Draft and distribute press releases executive statements media kits and key messaging.
  • Pitch and secure earned media for product launches financial results ESG initiatives and thought leadership.
  • Lead communications for major corporate events including the AGM and Board elections.
  • Prepare speeches scripts FAQs presentations and briefing materials for executives and the Board.
  • Develop and lead crisis communication strategies including scenarios playbooks and escalation protocols.
  • Identify emerging risks and issues early and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Act as a key communications advisor during reputational risk events in partnership with legal and compliance.
  • Manage communication timelines for staff and members during program and initiative launches.
  • Ensure internal communications reinforce organizational goals culture and reputation.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies for mergers and acquisitions.

You have

  • Successfully completed a Bachelors degree in Business or Communications Public Relations Journalism or a related field.
  • At least 6 years of experience in public relations or corporate communications preferably in financial services or regulated industries; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • A Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.

You are

  • Exceptional at writing editing and storytelling.
  • Familiar with AP Style media monitoring tools and social media platforms.
  • Knowledgeable in understanding ESG and DEI Principles.
