BLUE ZONES WORKSITE COORDINATOR
JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Blue Zones Worksite Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Chief of Communications & Marketing
WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Exempt
DEPARTMENT: Marketing
PAY GRADE: Admin 02 (230 Days)

This position is a grant-funded position.
PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Worksite Well-Being Coordinator is responsible for the successful implementation of the Blue Zones Worksite and Schools Transformation initiative engaging employees students and key stakeholders to create a culture where well-being is prioritized and integrated into daily experiences. Success is achieved when employees stakeholders and the organization operationalize the blueprint action plan resulting in measurable improvements in staff and student well-being that earn the designation of a Certified Blue Zones Worksite and School.
This position is a full-time onsite role with a reporting relationship to both Blue Zones and the designated school district.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education:
Bachelors degree in a health-related field; OR equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to travel locally using your own vehicle between campuses within the district.
Valid drivers license and proof of current auto insurance.
Strong self-starter and team group leader.
Adept at working with all levels of organizations to secure ongoing participation and utilization of the appropriate tools and resources.
Compelling written and oral communication skills as it relates to driving initiatives within an organization.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Ability to represent the Blue Zones brand with partners the public and the media.
Inspiring influential collaborative and responsible. 1
Strong project management skills to ensure initiative strategies stay on track and within budget.
Proficient in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
Experience working in multidisciplinary multicultural and multi-sectoral partnerships.
Strong facilitation skills.

Minimum Experience:
2 years experience in health education worksite health promotion and/or wellness consulting.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES:
Collaborate with the national Blue Zones team to lead and sustain implementation of the customized district blueprint and school-based action plans ensuring coordinated advancement of well-being initiatives and measurable progress across all schools leaders and stakeholders.
Develop strong relationships with leaders and key stakeholders within the community to encourage and maximize engagement within Blue Zones activities (moais Purpose Workshops and volunteer events) empower teams to lead and adopt blueprint best practices and achieve well-being improvement goals.
Maintain a strong knowledge to serve as a subject matter expert of Blue Zones research worksite health promotion and best practices related to supporting well-being within a school district.
Drive employee engagement and communication plans leveraging the support of the Zones national team to ensure successful execution including the delivery of programs and events that promote the learning and collaboration of Blue Zones principles.
Track and meet monthly participation targets and project plan milestones to achieve annual certification targets.
With guidance from the national Blue Zones team compile organizational performance/value measures and outcomes validation for best practice implementation and impact stories.
Lead the Blue Zones Steering Committee and Ambassador Network. Provide ongoing training guidance and recognition for school-based well-being champions and ambassadors.
Actively plan and participate in organizational events throughout the district including off-site events with local sponsors.
Adhere to Blue Zones organizational values and behaviors brand guidelines and technology systems and tools as instructed.
Facilitate Purpose Workshops for staff and students to help individuals connect personal purpose to organizational goals and overall well-being.
Organize and launch Moais (social support groups) within schools and departments to build connections and foster belonging.
Coordinate volunteer and community engagement initiatives for staff and students that align with Blue Zones principles and district goals. 2
Assist in the development of well-being-related communications (newsletters intranet posts staff spotlights) to highlight district progress and promote participation.
Support the alignment of Blue Zones work with district initiatives including established wellness programs.
Maintain organized records of events participants and communications to ensure continuity and sustainability of the program.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Tools/Equipment Used: Computer telephone fax calculator copier camera and radio systems.
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Ability to remain in a stationary position often sitting for extended periods of time.
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment on a regular basis.
Ability to move about inside the office to access files equipment and attend meetings.
Ability to attend and participate in events which may include standing for extended periods.
Ability to lift and transport items up to 20 pounds such as event materials or equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively both in person and virtually.
Ability to drive personal vehicle to various worksites on a daily basis.
Safety:
Contribute to the prevention of accidents and injuries by observing safety rules and District policy practicing the principles and skills taught in safety training wearing personal protective equipment as required reporting injuries and incidents immediately to supervisor and being proactive in the ongoing efforts to improve and maintain workplace safety.
