We are presently accepting resumes for aSummer Studentto provide administrative support to the People and Culture department. This is a full-time position starting as soon as April 20 2026 for approximately 4-5 months. This position works up to 37.5 hours biweekly with an hourly rate of pay of $21.43. Please note that this position is contingent upon funding approval through the Federal Government Canada Summer Jobs program.
Minimum requirements of this position include:
- Completion of secondary school and enrolled in post-secondary education in a closely related field of education which may include business/office administration Human Resources or legal administration or other closely related fields
- Related experience is an asset
- A valid class G drivers license and reliable transportation is an asset
Overview of Duties (including but not limited to):
- Providing administrative duties and support to the Department.
- Assisting and answering questions and inquiries as reception for the People and Culture Office in person and over the telephone or through email.
- Assisting in setting up various meetings such as grievance discipline and review meetings with employees Supervisors Managers and Union stewards updating grievance reports ensuring discipline is documented on HRIS and filing documents electronically and in appropriate files.
- Filing of documents in employee e-files.
- Creating e-files for new and existing employees scanning hard copy files into digital copies
- Providing support for Health and Safety labour relations taking minutes and preparing for approval and distribution.
- Assisting with process creation and updating.
- Assisting with Service Award ordering tracking and distribution.
- Providing administrative support for staff training performance management succession planning and health and safety initiatives.
- Tracking of Orientation and performance management reports for staff including updating the HRIS system once received and filing in employee file providing information to People and Culture Manager for overdue reports.

- Providing administrative support to the recruitment team when needed.
