What youll be doing
The Background Screening Coordinator provides background screening verification for potential and current employees and contingent workers that involves researching analyzing documenting and advising the results to various lines of business through recommendations and reports. The role schedules organizes and co-ordinates work effort with two outsource suppliers (Sterling Talent Solutions and Allegis Global Solutions) and HR Talent Acquisition to ensure background verifications are completed within an established standard level agreement.

Youll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where youll spend 1-3 days per week on-site while other days will be remote. How Youll Succeed
Investigation - Apply an investigative mindset to analyze the quality relevance and validity of information gathered to formulate conclusions and assess risk to the Bank.. Identify potential issues that may impact the hiring of potential employees and contingent workers and the continued employment of existing employees and contingent workers to ensure compliance with CIBCs Global Hiring Policy. Further investigation is required on 40% of files. Initiate candidate contact when further clarification is required and respond to candidate inquiries. Conduct research to gather validate and document ensuring data integrity maximum operational efficiency and consistency with Corporate Securitys due diligence program for use by others. Manage a portfolio of approximately 50 files at any given time with an account ownership model. Ownership and accountability of a file for all background screening activities and clearance recommendation
Relationship Management - Build and maintain relationships with diverse groups (HR Talent Acquisition and third-party vendors) to ensure a smooth and efficient background screening process while also meeting pre-determined SLAs. Display professionalism discretion and sound judgment in dealing with situations that are often extremely sensitive due to the nature of the confidential information handled within this role
Attention to detail and Organizational Skills - Manage multiple priorities such as data entry in background screening and myCareer applications a strong working knowledge of CIBCs personal banking systems maintaining shared mailboxes and drives and administering day to day tasks efficiently while also maintaining confidentiality.
Problem-Solving - Measure and monitor risk by identifying potential issues before the onboarding of individuals. Act with due diligence; ensure data integrity and recommend solutions to enhance current background screening processes. Exercise judgement when dealing with issues in a client-focused manner.
