Administration/Supervisory:
Direct and oversee Interpreter Program Office staff which includes the Interpreter Coordinator and staff interpreters. Approve leave administer performance evaluations disciplinary counseling and other related tasks.
Oversee the daily operations of the Interpreter Services Program ensuring effective communication between non-English speaking parties and the workers compensation system.
Attends meetings with agency personnel to discuss the Interpreter Program Office (IPO) changes affecting budgetary appropriations.
Ensures that the interpreter requests are processed on a daily basis with sufficient staffing to perform these tasks.
Analyzes and evaluates the IPO policies procedures and management practices in accordance with COMAR 14.09.03.04 to develop recommendations forimprovement;
Coordinate interpreter assignments for hearings depositions and meetings ensuring coverage and quality of language services.
Collaborate with legal counsel administrative staff and stakeholders to address language barriers and ensure fair and impartial proceedings.
Monitor interpreter performance conduct evaluations and provide feedback to improve service delivery and quality.
Maintain records of language access services provided interpreter qualifications and feedback received from parties involved in proceedings.
Responsible for conducting regularly scheduled staff meetings and training opportunities.
Develop and implement language access policies and procedures in compliance with state regulations and industry standards.
Attend meetings and conduct internal trainings with regards to changes implemented in Comphub.
Attends meetings outside of the Commission relating to projects training and ways of improving the Commissions operations and its stakeholders etc.
Responsible for reviewing MS22 forms on an annual basis and updating as needed and responsible for preparing PEP evaluations in a timely manner;
Reviews management reports on a daily basis to determine attainment of work production goals and objectives; confers with management and makes recommendations for resolutions.
FISCAL SERVICES
Maintaininventory control for supplies and equipment including receiving supplies andequipment maintaining records for supplies/equipment received preparinginventory reports of supplies on hand ensuring procedures are followed whensupplies are requested by and distributed to employees distributingsupplies/equipment to employees estimating the amount of supplies/equipmentthat need to be ordered and notifying the agency buyer when supplies/equipmentneed to be ordered.
Ensurethat the agencys office space is properly maintained. When maintenance or service is requiredcontact the supplier/vendor to schedule maintenance maintain a log of buildingmaintenance tasks and ensure that the maintenance/service is performedcompletely. Prepare a report onmaintenance/service/repairs needed. Thisincludes facilities/building related items water coolers photocopiers officefurniture and other equipment.
Conducta complete physical inventory of all supply and material items at the close ofthe fiscal year (June 30th). The physical inventory information willbe forwarded to the procurement officer who will be responsible for determiningthe dollar value of the inventory and reporting the information to theDepartment of General Services.
Conduct a complete physical inventory of allfixed assets at the close of the fiscal year (June 30th). Thephysical inventory information will be forwarded to the property officer whowill report the information to the Department of General Services. Throughout the year ensure that surplusproperty is maintained in a secure area until the appropriate disposition canbe arranged.
OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Four years of administrative staff or professional work.

Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules regulations policy procedures and processes or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for- year basis for the required experience.
