The school is seeking a highly organised and creative Art Technician to support the smooth running of the department. The successful applicant will work closely with teachers students and leaders to ensure lessons are properly resourced equipment is maintained materials are readily available and studios are safe clean and ready for use.
Daily responsibilities will include preparing materials for lessons mixing paints setting up and clearing down workspaces managing stock ordering supplies maintaining tools and equipment supporting health and safety compliance organising displays and helping with coursework preparation. The role may also involve assisting students with specialist techniques supporting photography sessions helping during practical workshops documenting student work and contributing to exhibitions.
The ideal candidate will be practical creative and proactive with good communication skills and the ability to stay calm and efficient during busy periods. Requirements
Experience working in an art design or creative environment (school experience desirable but not essential)
Strong understanding of art materials tools and safe working practices
Practical skills in two or more areas such as drawing painting printmaking sculpture ceramics photography or mixed media
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage resources and prioritise tasks
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards in studio spaces
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support students during practical sessions
Calm reliable and proactive approach to daily routines
