We are working with a friendly and well-regarded secondary school in Barnet to appoint a proactive School Caretaker for an immediate start. This is a vital role within the premises team focusing on the security maintenance and overall safety of the school site. It occupies a large site with a mix of traditional and modern buildings providing a diverse environment for the premises team. The leadership team is highly supportive of support staff viewing the caretaking team as the backbone of the schools daily operations.
The Role The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily opening and closing of the school ensuring the site is secure at all times. Duties include performing minor DIY repairs decorating and general maintenance tasks to keep the facilities in top condition. The role also involves overseeing health and safety checks and monitoring the heating and lighting systems.
Requirements
Experience: Previous experience in caretaking site maintenance or a trade-based role is highly desirable.
Skills: A practical approach with basic plumbing carpentry or electrical skills.
Compliance: The school is unable to offer visa sponsorship; candidates must have the right to work in the UK. A valid enhanced DBS is required.
