We are currently seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist to join a mainstream school with an attached ASD base in South London. This flexible role offers either a full-time split post across mainstream and ASD provisions or a part-time position (3 days per week) working solely within the mainstream school.
You will support children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and a range of Speech Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) working closely with school staff and families to help pupils achieve their communication and learning goals. This opportunity is suitable for Band 6 or Band 7 therapists looking for flexibility while working within a supportive educational setting. Experience with dysphagia is welcomed but not essential.
In this role you will:
Assess diagnose and treat children with Speech Language and Communication Needs in mainstream and ASD school settings.
Deliver individualised evidence-based therapy interventions to support communication learning and social development.
Work collaboratively with teachers SEN staff parents/carers and the wider multi-disciplinary team.
Contribute to EHCPs reviews and progress reporting.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation in line with professional standards.
Use dysphagia management skills where appropriate and within your scope of practice (if applicable).
To be considered for this role you must have:
A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
HCPC registration and eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
Experience working with children with ASC and SLCN ideally within school-based settings.
Strong communication organisational and interpersonal skills.
A flexible proactive and child-centred approach to practice.
Dysphagia experience is desirable but not essential.
