This role develops and runs energy models and performance studies that inform design decisions across the project lifecycle. The Energy Modeler partners with architects engineers and project teams to evaluate envelope and HVAC strategies identify opportunities for decarbonization and electrification and communicate results in a clear actionable way.

- Youll support energy-code compliance and sustainability programs (as applicable) by providing modeling documentation and analysis outputs.
- Youll contribute to quality control by maintaining model assumptions inputs and files in accordance with team standards.

Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Architectural Engineering Building Science Architecture or related field.
- 3-7 years of relevant experience in building performance energy modeling and/or sustainable design.
- Experience with energy modeling tools - ideally including IESVE EnergyPlus/OpenStudio eQUEST Trace3D Sefaira or comparable platforms.
- Working understanding of building systems envelope performance and HVAC strategies and how they interact with architectural design.
- Familiarity with common codes and standards (e.g. ASHRAE and IECC) and performance metrics (e.g. EUI peak loads unmet hours).
- Understanding of HVAC controls computerized building automation and energy management systems
- Experience working with multidisciplinary design teams (architecture engineering interiors planning).
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical audiences with strong writing and presentation skills.
Preferred License and Certifications:
- Building Energy Modeling Professional (BEMP) Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or other relevant energy management credentials.
- Additional relevant credentials (e.g. LEED AP WELL AP PHIUS ASHRAE certifications) are a plus.
- EIT/Engineer Intern a plus.
