Job Summary

Job Summary (Radiologic Technologist)

- Prepare patients for radiological examinations and explain procedures.
- Respond to patient questions and provide excellent customer service.
- Perform diagnostic radiological procedures as ordered by physicians.
- Ensure proper patient identification and verify exam orders and diagnosis.
- Safely and effectively operate radiologic equipment (CR DR Fluoro).
- Prepare and position patients for examinations using correct techniques.
- Transfer images to PACS scan documents and manage image priorities (e.g. STAT/URGENT).
- Assist Radiologists and other staff with fluoroscopic and special procedures using sterile techniques as required.
- Administer IV and oral contrast media as needed and manage/document contrast reactions.
- Document patient history symptoms imaging limitations and exam details in PACS.
- Move portable radiographic equipment to various hospital departments as needed.
- Maintain clean and orderly work area and assigned rooms.
- Follow radiation safety practices and promote ALARA standards for patient and staff.
- Escort patients throughout the department/hospital as required.
- Perform clerical duties monitor workflow in PACS assist with image release and CD creation.
- Support office functions and perform quality assurance duties as assigned.
- Explain policies and procedures to radiology students as directed.
- Comply with all regulatory safety and departmental policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an approved Radiological Technology training program (ARRT).
- ARRT certification in Radiology.
- BLS certification (American Heart Association).
- Minimum one year of experience preferred in a hospital clinic or physician s office.
- Knowledge of medical terminology anatomy physiology radiologic equipment and safety.
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to troubleshoot and adjust equipment as needed.

Shift: Day shift weekdays; every 3rd weekend evening shift
